Monika - The Founder
Originally from the vibrant lands of Poland, Monika has been a wanderer since her early childhood, finding her second home in the enchanting country of Morocco since 2013. With a heart that beats for writing and exploring, she has woven a rich tapestry of experiences throughout her life.
Her academic journey led her to UCELTE UW (University Language for English Language Teacher Education), equipping her with a robust foundation in teaching English. Monika's professional canvas is diverse - she has an impressive background in planning a variety of events, ranging from cultural and travel events to fashion shows and dance workshops. Her passion for embracing different cultures and her love for storytelling were the driving forces behind the creation of "Bewildered in Morocco," a platform she envisioned as a virtual diary of her life and adventures in Morocco.
Said - The Custodian
Said, a native of the breathtaking High Atlas mountains, has his roots deeply embedded in the culture and traditions of the Ijoukak valley. His educational journey began in the valleys of Ijoukak and later took him to the bustling city of Marrakech, where he completed his schooling in a boarding school. Following his passion for hospitality, Said pursued studies in hospitality service, which paved his way into the tourism industry in 2010.
With a rich heritage and an innate understanding of Moroccan culture, Said brings a unique and authentic perspective to "Bewildered in Morocco." His hands-on experience in tourism, coupled with his deep love for his homeland, makes him the perfect custodian of the blog's legacy. In 2023, following the devastating earthquake in the High Atlas region and the subsequent pause in his Berber Homestay business, Said took over the reins of the blog from Monika. His aim is to continue sharing the untold stories of Morocco, its culture, and its people, while also documenting the journey of rebuilding and resilience of his beloved Berber Homestay.
