After years of exploring Marrakech and trying countless breakfast spots, I want to share my favorite places for a traditional Moroccan morning meal. Trust me, starting your day the Moroccan way will change how you think about breakfast!
What Makes a Great Moroccan Breakfast?
Before I share my list, let me tell you what to expect. A traditional breakfast here includes fresh msemen (layered flatbread), sfenj (Moroccan donuts), eggs, local honey, amlou (almond butter with argan oil), and of course, fresh orange juice. Now, let's get to the rankings!
Want to Taste It All in One Morning?
If you want to try msemen, sfenj, amlou, and more without choosing just one spot, a guided Marrakech food tour takes you to several hidden breakfast gems that locals love. It's how I show Marrakech to my own friends when they visit.

4th Place: Beldi Fusion Kitchen
This place has everything on the menu—and I mean everything! They're famous for breakfast, but you can eat here any time of day.
What's good: Their matlouh (soft, spongy bread) and sfenj are excellent. Really well-made and fresh.
What's not so great: Apart from these two items, the rest is just okay. Nothing that makes you say "wow!" And the prices? Not cheap at all. You're paying for the fancy atmosphere more than the food.
My tip: If you go, stick to the matlouh and sfenj. Skip the rest.
3rd Place: Espace Chinoui
Now this is what I call authentic! You won't find a more local experience than Espace Chinoui.
What's special: The menu is small, but everything they make is really good. Their fresh fruit juices deserve a special mention—some of the best in Marrakech!
The vibe: Pure local. No tourists, no fancy decoration. Just good, honest Moroccan breakfast.
My tip: Try their mixed fruit juice. You'll thank me later!
2nd Place: L'Arsa
Hidden in the middle of Marrakech's palm grove, L'Arsa is a real treasure. The food here made me so happy!
The menu: You'll find all of Morocco's breakfast delights at very reasonable prices:
- Perfect Moroccan orange juice (you know, the kind that tastes like sunshine)
- Delicious tomato and egg omelettes
- Fresh sfenj with amlou—pure heaven!
Why second place: Everything is consistently good, prices are fair, and the palm grove setting is beautiful. They really earned this spot!
Exploring the Palm Grove?
L'Arsa is tucked inside Marrakech's beautiful Palmeraie. If you're heading out this way for breakfast, make a morning of it — you can combine your meal with a camel ride or quad tour through the palm groves. The landscape feels like a different world from the Medina.

1st Place: La Ferme Beldi - The Absolute Champion!
This place is a masterclass in traditional Moroccan breakfast. Don't let the simple entrance fool you—they've brought the countryside right into Marrakech.
What makes it number one:
- The omelettes are perfect—fluffy and full of flavor
- Fresh orange juice that tastes like it was squeezed seconds ago
- Their matlouh and msemen are the best I've ever had
- Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, is delicious
The experience: It feels like having breakfast at a Moroccan grandmother's house. Simple, authentic, and made with love. When locals eat their msemen plain before adding anything—that's when you know the bread is exceptional!
Fallen in Love with Moroccan Breakfast?
If La Ferme Beldi's msemen and amlou stole your heart (trust me, they will), imagine learning to make them yourself. A Moroccan cooking class starts with a market visit to pick fresh ingredients, then you cook a full meal — including breads, tagine, and pastries. You'll go home with the recipes!

These four places each offer something special, but if you only have time for one breakfast in Marrakech, make it La Ferme Beldi. Your taste buds will remember it forever!

Take the Flavors Home with You
Loved the amlou and argan oil? After breakfast, head to the souks to stock up on spices, honey, and artisanal food products. A guided souk tour helps you find the best quality at fair prices — your guide knows which vendors are honest and which ones mark up for tourists. I always take visiting friends on one of these.
