I am a massive fan of Moroccan architecture, are you?
In this blog I’d like to show you the most beautiful houses, guest houses and terraces in Morocco I have been to. Most of them are a fusion of Moroccan tradition with a European touch – designed by European expats who wanted to mix influences and styles.
Here you can see the outcome:
Sahraoui house with a Swedish touch
Entirely designed and built by a Swedish couple. More about them and their house here.

Berber style terrace with a view
Cafe Fatima Berbere on the curvy road from Boumalene to Gorges de Dades. More about this region here.
Moroccan riad with a Polish touch
Riad Suliman in Marrakesh, decorated, re-designed by a Polish lady whose story you can read here.
Modern Moroccan riad
Riad Quara is run by a Moroccan couple. Modernity and tradition in one place. You can read more about it here.
Old dar with a British touch
An old, Moroccan house restored by a British writer, Tahir Shah, the author of Caliph’s house. More photos of the house here, review of the book here.
