Marrakech is full of surprises beyond the famous souks and Jemaa el-Fnaa square. After exploring our red city for years, I found three unusual places that will give you stories to tell back home.
Villa Dar Sadaka: A House Like No Other
This villa is unlike anything you'll see in Morocco. Every room has an animal theme, and the furniture changes based on which animal the room represents. What makes it truly strange? There's a tiny house inside with miniature furniture, and another room with giant-sized everything.
The most unusual part is the "Upside Down House" where literally everything is flipped - chairs on the ceiling, tables hanging above your head. It's the strangest experience I've discovered in Marrakech so far.
I haven't stayed there yet because the prices are quite high - up to 20000 dirhams per night for 10 people. But even a visit during the day would be memorable.
Vintage Sidecar Tours: Ride Through History
This new experience lets you explore Marrakech in a classic sidecar motorcycle. You can choose to have a driver or ride it yourself for 90 minutes. The price reaches 130 euros, which surprised me for the duration, but the vintage charm makes it special.
Cruising through the palm groves and old quarters in a sidecar gives you a completely different view of our city. It's perfect if you want to feel like you're in an old movie.
Anima Garden: Morocco's Most Instagrammable Secret
Just 28 minutes from Marrakech, this garden is one of our country's best-kept secrets. With over 300 plant species from around the world, it's like stepping into another planet.
The garden has so many photo spots - colorful sculptures mixed with exotic plants create magical corners everywhere you look. At 60 dirhams entry and free transport provided, it's affordable compared to the other experiences.
What I love most is how peaceful it feels after the busy streets of Marrakech. The mix of art and nature creates something truly unique.
Ready for Adventure?
These three experiences show a different side of Marrakech that most tourists never see. Whether you choose the upside-down villa, the vintage sidecar, or the artistic garden, you'll have unique memories of our beautiful city.
Which one would you try first?
