Are you looking for a place to escape from hectic, big city life? Do you wish to connect with nature, relax by a river, admire the beauty of nature, see splendid mountains and taste authentic, Amazigh food?

If you answered “yes” to most of the questions Gorges du Dades region will be the best choice!

Hidden deep in the mountains in the south of Morocco, 120km from Ouarzazate, 6h ride on a bus from Marrakesh, 10h ride on a bus from Casa, Gorges du Dades makes a perfect place for a moment of relax.

Things to do:

TREKKING in the mountains- endless tracks to discover!

CAMPING by the rivers in the valley

TASTING mouthwatering berber food and mint tea is cafes on the road

RELAXING in numerous kasbahs (I chose Kasbah Ait Marghad in Ait Ouglif, 17km from Boumalene, 15km from Gorges du Dades valley)

The village  is very calm and the crime rate is zero. Unlike big cities, people leave their houses open. Ait Ouglif and all villages in the region are so natural that if you walk at night you have to carry a flash light with you. No street lights there!

Apart from the above, the region is a paradise for photographers! It may also be very inspiring for artists and a perfect place for bloggers and writers.

As you walk everybody will greet you on the street. So nice!
