Tamaris is a peaceful getaway around 30 km away from crowded Casablanca. It has been developing ridiculously over the past years and now Casaouis buy summer houses there. Many people decide to give up their big city life and move to Tamaris, Dar Bouazza.
It is a perfect place for travellers, backpackers and digital nomads. There are numerous places where you can park your van too! The city is not big so you won’t get lost, therefore I highly recommend a road trip with your own/rented car to have more freedom to choose the right spot.
During summer months the beaches are quite crowded, but there are some spots that are still unspoiled and you can enjoy the views, waves and fresh breeze.
How to get to Tamaris from Casablanca?
There are two ways to get to this peaceful spot of Tamaris from Casablanca. You can take Route d’Azzemour (pass near Morocco Mall) and continue to the south. You will find plenty of artisanal shops on the road: handmade furniture and beautifully painted ceramics.
Alternatively you can take grand taxi (old, white Mercedes) along with 5 other passengers. The only minus about taking a taxi is that it will drop you on the road, not necessarily wherever you wish.
Where to stay in Tamaris?
There are many cosy cabins and small villas in the town. You can simply go around and ask or book in advance via AirBnb. You can use this link for a 35 USD discount for your first reservation!
There are also many apartments and hotels being built these days. All you have to do is to have a ride and ask around!
Backpackers and digital nomads will find great spots in Tamaris too! Just look at the photos:
