Are you dreaming of exploring the vibrant souks of Marrakech or lounging on the beaches of Essaouira? As someone who’s been through the Moroccan visa process (and waited 7 long months for my residency permit!), I know firsthand how confusing and frustrating visa requirements can be. But don’t worry – I’m here to make your journey to Morocco as smooth as possible.

The Good News: Many Visitors Don’t Need a Visa!

One of the things I love about Morocco is how welcoming it is to tourists. In fact, citizens of many countries can visit Morocco for up to 90 days without a visa. This includes travelers from:

  • The United States
  • Canada
  • The European Union
  • The United Kingdom
  • Australia
  • New Zealand

However, it’s always best to double-check the most up-to-date requirements before you travel. Visa policies can change, and you don’t want any surprises at the airport!

Quick and Easy Visa Check: Not sure if you need a visa? There’s a super simple way to find out. I recommend using iVisa, an online tool that gives you instant answers about visa requirements for Morocco (and pretty much anywhere else in the world). Just enter your nationality and travel details, and you’ll get all the info you need in seconds.

My Top Tips for a Smooth Entry to Morocco:

  • Passport Validity: Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned stay.
  • Return Ticket: Have proof of onward travel ready, even if you’re not required to show it.
  • Accommodation: Be prepared to provide the address of where you’re staying.
  • Currency: Bring some cash (Moroccan dirhams or euros) for any entry fees or unexpected expenses.

Planning a Longer Stay in Morocco?

If you’re like me and fall in love with Morocco (trust me, it’s easy to do!), you might be considering a longer stay. Here are some resources I’ve put together based on my experiences:

Remember, visa and entry requirements can change. Always check official government sources for the most up-to-date information before you travel.
